Verify before you start: Confirm your existing spindle matches these dimensions — 8mm x 8mm square head, Ø24mm thread diameter, Ø19mm base diameter, and 60mm total length — before ordering or installing.
Installation

Step-by-Step Fitting

Work through each step in order. Turn off your water supply first, and take your time with the fitment check in Step 4.

Your JKC tap spindle is installed. Give the tap a final check for smooth turning and no drips.

Turn Off Water Supply

Locate the shutoff valve for this tap and turn it off completely before you begin.
Remove the Tap Handle

Unscrew or pop off the tap handle to expose the spindle underneath.
Take care: Old handles can be stiff — apply steady, even pressure rather than forcing it.
Remove the Old Spindle

Use a wrench to unscrew the worn spindle from the tap body and lift it out.
Take care: Note the spindle's orientation before removing it, so the new one goes in the same way.
Verify Fitment Against Your Old Spindle

Compare the new JKC spindle's head size and thread diameter side-by-side with the one you removed before installing.
Take care: If the dimensions don't match, stop and contact support before proceeding.
Install the New JKC Spindle

Insert the new spindle into the tap body and hand-tighten it until snug.
Take care: Hand-tighten only — using a wrench here can overtighten and damage the threads.
Reattach the Tap Handle

Fit the handle back onto the spindle and secure it the same way it was originally attached.
Turn On Water & Test

Turn the water supply back on and test the tap for smooth turning and leak-free operation.
Points To Take Care Of

Do

  • Verify the 8x8mm head, Ø24mm thread, and Ø19mm base dimensions match your old spindle before starting
  • Turn off the water supply fully before removing the handle
  • Hand-tighten the new spindle only
  • Keep your old spindle until you've confirmed the new one works
  • Test for smooth turning and no leaks before regular use

Don't

  • Don't use excessive force or a wrench directly on the spindle threads
  • Don't skip the water shutoff step
  • Don't discard the old spindle immediately after fitting
  • Don't force the spindle in if it doesn't seat smoothly — check orientation and dimensions first
  • Don't overtighten the tap handle once reattached
