What's In The Box

Verify before you start: This spindle is dimension-matched for a 32mm Goldline-style flush valve (9mm 20-tooth spline, 109mm total length, 27mm/32mm dual-thread body). Compare these measurements to your old spindle before you begin.

Nice work — all steps complete!

Your Goldline flush valve should now be running leak-free. Give it a final test flush to be sure.

Turn Off the Water Supply
~1 min
Locate the isolation valve feeding the concealed flush valve and turn it fully off before doing anything else.
Remove the Push-Button Cover
~1 min
Unscrew or unclip the push-button faceplate covering the flush valve mechanism to expose the spindle underneath.
Access and Remove the Old Spindle
~2 min
Using an adjustable wrench, unscrew the old spindle counter-clockwise and lift it out of the flush valve body.
Take care: Old spindles can be stiff from mineral buildup — turn steadily, don't force it, and clean the threads if it feels seized.
Check the O-Ring and Clean the Housing
~1 min
Wipe the flush valve housing clean with a soft cloth and check that the seating surface for the O-ring is free of debris.
Insert and Thread In the New JKC Spindle
~2 min
Line up the new spindle and thread it in by hand, turning clockwise until snug.
Take care: Hand-tight is enough — overtightening with a wrench can damage the threads or crack the housing.
Replace the Push-Button Cover
~1 min
Refit the push-button faceplate over the spindle and secure it the same way it was originally fitted.
Turn On Water and Test the Flush
~2 min
Turn the water supply back on and press the flush button a few times, checking for smooth 180-degree action and no leaks around the base.
Points To Take Care Of

Do's & Don'ts

The most common fitting mistakes — and how to avoid them.

Do

  • Measure your old spindle against the listing's dimensions before ordering
  • Turn off the water supply fully before starting
  • Thread the new spindle in by hand until snug
  • Check the O-ring seats fully before reassembly
  • Test the flush action a few times before closing everything up
  • Keep the old spindle until you've confirmed the new one works

Don't

  • Don't overtighten the spindle — hand-tight is enough
  • Don't grip the spline teeth directly with pliers — it can strip them
  • Don't force the spindle if it doesn't turn smoothly — recheck alignment instead
  • Don't skip verifying the 32mm size before installing
  • Don't discard the old spindle until the repair is confirmed successful
  • Don't use the flush valve at full pressure immediately — test gently first
