What's In The Box

Verify before you remove the old hinge: Check housing width (51mm), pin offset (20mm), total height (91mm) and mounting stud length (52mm) against your existing hinge. Keep the old part until you've confirmed the new one fits and works.
Installation

Step-by-Step Fitting

Work with the seat lid closed and the toilet not in use. No power tools needed — everything below is hand-tight or a light turn with a wrench. Tap the number (or the button) to check off each step.

Lift and Remove the Old Seat

Lift the seat and cover assembly upward and off the existing hinge posts at the back of the bowl.
Take care: support the seat with one hand as it comes free so it doesn't drop or chip the bowl.
Unscrew the Old Mounting Nuts

From underneath the bowl, hold the old hinge steady and turn the mounting nut counter-clockwise to remove it, then lift the old hinge away.
Take care: old nuts can be stiff from age — use steady, even pressure rather than force.
Clean the Mounting Holes

Wipe both hinge-mounting holes on the bowl clear of old residue, limescale, or debris so the new hinge seats flush.
Verify Fit Before Installing

Compare the new JKC hinge's housing width, pin offset, total height, and mounting stud length to the old part one more time before fitting it permanently.
Take care: if any measurement doesn't match, stop here and contact our support team before you continue.
Insert the R and L Housings

Fit the Right (R) housing into the right-hand hinge socket underneath the seat, and the Left (L) housing into the left-hand socket. Double-check the engraved markings.
Take care: R and L are not interchangeable — fitting the wrong side will cause misalignment and a poor pivot.
Fit the Connector Rod
~1 min
Slide the stainless steel connector rod between the two housings so the R and L sides sit aligned together as a matched pair.
Thread the Studs & Secure
~2 min
Pass each threaded mounting stud down through the bowl's mounting holes, then hand-tighten the nuts underneath, snugging gently with a wrench.
Take care: tighten both sides evenly and a little at a time — don't fully tighten one side before starting the other, and don't overtighten.
Test the Seat
~1 min
Lift and lower the seat and cover a few times, checking for a secure, wobble-free, smooth pivot before putting it into regular daily use.

  • Hand-tighten first, then snug gently with a wrench

  • Keep the old hinge until you've confirmed the new fit

Don't

  • Don't force-fit a hinge that doesn't align
  • Don't use a power drill or impact driver
  • Don't overtighten — this can crack the plastic housing
  • Don't mix up the R and L housings
  • Don't discard packaging before confirming the fit works
