Before You Start

Gather these first so you're not stopping mid-install.

Tools You'll Need

Adjustable wrench or spanner

Soft cloth (for cleaning mounting points)

Phillips screwdriver (optional, if your seat has securing screws)

1× Right-Hand Hinge Assembly

1× Left-Hand Hinge Assembly

2× Rubber Gaskets

2× Upper Collars & 2× Lower Collars

2× Threaded Mounting Posts

Verify before you start: Compare your old hinge to these dimensions — 47mm hinge head width, 31mm collar width (upper & lower), 90mm total height. If your old hinge doesn't roughly match, this kit may not be the right fit for your toilet.

Your new hinges are fitted. Give the seat a few test movements before regular use.

Remove the Old Seat

Lift the existing toilet seat straight up and off, away from the mounting points on the toilet bowl.

Remove the Old Hinges

~2 min

Unscrew or unclip the old hinge bodies from the mounting holes and set them aside.

Take care: Old hardware can be stiff or seized — work it gently rather than forcing it, to avoid cracking the mounting holes.

Clean the Mounting Points

~1 min

Wipe down the mounting holes and surrounding surface with a soft cloth so the new hinges seat cleanly and flush.

Insert the New Left & Right Hinges

~2 min

Fit the Right-Hand hinge into the right mounting hole and the Left-Hand hinge into the left, each with its rubber gasket and collar seated flat against the bowl.

Take care: Don't mix up the Left and Right hinge bodies — each is shaped for its own side only.

Secure the Threaded Posts

~2 min

From underneath, hand-tighten each threaded post, then use an adjustable wrench or spanner for a final firm turn.

Take care: Snug and firm is enough — overtightening can crack the plastic post or collar.

Test the Seat

~1 min

Lower the seat, check it sits level, and lift/lower it a few times to confirm smooth, wobble-free movement before regular use.
