Installation

Step-by-Step Fitting

Follow these steps in order — most of the job is removing the old connector and getting the alignment right for the new one.

Your JKC Offset Pan Connector is fitted and ready. Keep an eye on the joint for the first few flushes.

1. Turn Off the Water Supply & Drain the Cistern

Locate the isolation valve behind or beside the toilet and turn it off. Flush the cistern to empty it, then hold the flush handle down briefly to clear any remaining water from the pan.
2. Remove the Toilet Pan From the Floor

Unscrew the fixing bolts securing the pan to the floor, then gently lift and tilt the pan back to disconnect it from the existing connector. Set it down carefully on an old towel.
Take care: Lift the pan slowly and evenly — tilting it too fast can splash residual water still trapped in the trap.
3. Take Out the Old Pan Connector

Pull or twist the old connector free from the floor waste outlet. If it's stiff, a gentle twist with pliers or an adjustable wrench usually loosens it.
4. Clean the Floor Waste Outlet

Wipe down the floor waste outlet with a soft cloth to remove old sealant, debris, or residue. A clean, dry surface helps the new connector's rubber seal grip properly.
5. Fit the JKC Offset Connector

Push the JKC Offset Connector onto the floor waste outlet, rotating it so the 50mm offset points toward your toilet pan's actual outlet position. Press firmly until it's seated flush.
Take care: Take care to align the offset direction correctly before pressing it in — refitting it the wrong way round means removing and reseating the connector.
6. Reposition and Reconnect the Toilet Pan

Lower the toilet pan back into place, guiding its outlet gently onto the connector's inlet flange until it's seated flush. Re-secure the pan to the floor with its fixing bolts.
Take care: Lower the pan straight down onto the connector — angling it in can dislodge the rubber seal.
7. Secure the Pan and Test for Leaks

Turn the water supply back on, refill the cistern, and flush a few times while checking closely around the base of the pan and the connector for any signs of water. Confirm the pan sits flat and doesn't rock before regular use.

Do

  • Measure your existing outlet size (110mm / 4 inch) before fitting
  • Dry-fit the connector first to check the offset direction lines up with your floor waste
  • Hand-tighten only — the rubber seal doesn't need force
  • Run water through the pan and check for leaks before regular use
  • Keep your old connector until you've confirmed the new fit works

Don't

  • Don't overtighten or use pliers/wrenches to force the fit
  • Don't skip cleaning the old outlet before fitting — debris can break the seal
  • Don't drop the pan onto the connector — lower it gently into place
  • Don't use the toilet until you've confirmed there are no leaks
  • Don't discard your old connector until installation is fully confirmed
