Turn Off Water Supply

Shut off the water supply to the line before starting any work on the opening you're closing.

Caution: Ensure the line is fully depressurized before proceeding.

Clean Pipe Threads
~2 min

Wipe the pipe opening's threads free of debris, old sealant tape, or corrosion residue with a clean cloth.

Caution: A clean thread surface is essential for a proper seal.

Apply Sealant Tape & Insert Plug
~3 min

Wrap PTFE thread seal tape evenly around the plug's threads, 3 to 4 wraps clockwise, then position the plug at the opening.

Caution: Uneven or overlapping tape can cause an inconsistent seal.

Tighten & Test for Leaks
~3 min

Hand-tighten the plug with a spanner until snug, then restore water supply briefly and check the opening for leaks.

Caution: Avoid overtightening — this can crack fittings or strip threads.
