Verify before you start: Confirm your drain pipe's outer opening is 110mm / 4 inch before installing — this valve is designed specifically for that pipe size and won't fit other diameters.
Installation

Step-by-Step Fitting

Clean & Dry the Pipe End

Wipe the outer rim of your drain pipe clean of dust, grease and moisture with a dry cloth.
Take care: Any dust or moisture left on the pipe will weaken the cement bond.
Apply PV Seal Solvent Cement

Apply a thin, even layer of the included PV Seal solvent cement around the outer rim of the pipe end.
Take care: Avoid globs of cement — a thin, even coat bonds better than a thick one.
Push-Fit the Valve Onto the Pipe

Push the valve firmly onto the cemented pipe end and give it a slight twist to seat it fully.
Take care: If it doesn't slide on smoothly, stop and recheck your pipe diameter — don't force it.
Let It Cure & Test the Flow

Leave the joint undisturbed to cure, then run water through the pipe to confirm the flap opens smoothly and there's no leak at the joint.

Do

  • Confirm your pipe's outer diameter is 110mm / 4 inch before starting
  • Make sure the pipe end is completely clean and dry before applying cement
  • Apply the solvent cement in a thin, even layer
  • Let the cement cure fully before running water through the valve
  • Keep the old cap or fitting until you've confirmed the new valve works
  • Wear gloves when handling solvent cement

Don't

  • Don't apply cement to a wet or dusty pipe end
  • Don't force the valve if it doesn't slide on smoothly — recheck pipe size
  • Don't run water through the valve before the cement has cured
  • Don't overtighten or twist the valve excessively once seated
  • Don't use this valve on a pipe diameter other than 110mm / 4 inch
  • Don't discard the packaging until installation is confirmed successful
